Moon Phases
When my grandfather was 17, he immigrated to America from Iran. While he has been in the US for almost 50 years, he always taught my family about our culture and where he came from. He wanted us to appreciate our culture and know its traditions and history. Persian culture uses a lot of iconography like the symbol to the right of a Faravahar. This represents good words, good thoughts, and good deeds, as well as the sanctity of a promise and to always remain humble. I combine these symbols with my love of the sky. As a child I would beg my parents to take me outside to look at the moon and stars. Taking inspiration from old star charts and these ancient symbols, this design was born. I used Procreate and Ned Graphics to create this design.
